Danbury, North Carolina
Hang Rock State Park run with Martin and Laura. Moore’s Wall (to the Lookout) to Tory’s Den (and waterfall) to Ruben Mountain Trail and back to Moore’s Wall.
As we headed out, we saw signs of a race about to start. An 11-miler named “Reach the Peaks” (sponsored by the Stokes County Art Council) was about to be in progress…and on the same trail we were running.
Short story…the racers had to head the opposite direction at the start, so never caught up with us. Saw a number of them on the return…looks like a challenging course.
For our route, a lot of beautiful scenery…and the weather was excellent. The company was great as well.
