Definitely a course to repeat. Entertaining and strong crowd support almost all the way. Flat but not so flat that the muscles get tired with an identical movement. Variety enough to keep the mind occupied while not so overwhelming as to distract. Even an opportunity to do shots along the way (did not avail myself)…

Easy to access, especially thanks to Jon Viventi and Jennifer Chu for thinking ahead! The suggested time to arrive was a tad early but provided time to socialize with friends and other runners (soon to be friends…?).

Weather was a-mazing. Cool at first (40s) and never heating up enough to impact the pace. The course went between enough buildings that even with the clear skies, there were warmer and cooler spots to keep it interesting.

Lessons learned from this race…a) if a chance opens up to move to the correct corral…take it, b) trying to catch up to a pace group that started in the corral ahead of you (where your friend is running) and is ten to fifteen minutes ahead can be a challenge, and c) the GPS threw off the pace for the first mile…there is no way my pace was that low... Started out fast and maintained an acceptable pace for the first twenty-four miles. While not falling apart at the end, the finish could have been (and will be) stronger. Pleased with the effort and the experience…always fun to hang with passionate people.
